GRT's new electronic fare card named 'EasyGo'
Grand River Transit has revealed the name of its new electronic fare card, which transit riders can start using at the end of 2016.
Grand River Transit has revealed the name of the new electronic fare care that bus riders will be able to use starting at the end of next year: the EasyGo Fare Card.
In a release, GRT said the name was chosen to match the other EasyGo products the service already uses like Trip Planner.
The electronic smart-card will let transit users load and reload money onto the card. When the ION light right transit project is completed, users will be able to use the smart-card there too.
New fare boxes that can read the smart-cards will be installed this winter, and operator training will follow.
