Elora Quarry is popular spot to go for a cool swim in the summer when the temperatures soar.

It's so popular there are frequently lineups of cars waiting to get into park, and visitors often resort to parking in other locations and walking down the highway to get to the swimming hole.

This summer, the Grand River Conservation Area is setting a maximum daily capacity for the park in order to increase public safety and decrease the overall environmental impact on the area.

The maximum daily capacity will be set at 1,300 guests, and when that limit is hit, the GRCA will encourage the public to visit other parks like Elora Gorge and Belwood Lake.

The quarry is open every day, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends and 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays.
