CBC Kitchener-Waterloo has been spending time in Williamsburg as part of our Communities in Focus initiative, which aims to build and deepen relationships by highlighting new and unheard voices.
That includes an event at Max Becker Common on April 20 for an Earth Day cleanup with the Williamsburg Community Association.
The neighbourhood is a fast-growing and tight-knit community in the southwestern part of the city. Williamsburg is bordered by Fischer-Hallman Road to the east, Trussler Road to the west, Highway 7/8 to the north and the southern border has recently expanded from Bleams Road to Huron Road.
The neighbourhood still has a hint of the historic former hamlet of Williamsburg embedded in a densely populated, fast-developing urban centre that's a short drive out to the surrounding picturesque farmland.
