Travis Vader's bail conditions to be reviewed Friday
After he was late to court for the 4th time, Vader could have his bail revoked later this week
Travis Vader will have his bail conditions reviewed later this week after he showed up late for his trial again on Wednesday morning.
The Crown has asked the court to revoke Vader's bail, but defence lawyer Brian Beresh asked for time to review materials given him by the prosecution.
Bail arguments will now be heard Friday afternoon.
For now, Vader remains free on bail. Under his conditions, he must wear an electronic monitor.
The first-degree murder trial is scheduled to begin each day at 9:30 a.m. By 10 a.m. on Wednesday, when Vader failed to appear on time, Justice Denny Thomas issued a warrant for his arrest.
The warrant was cancelled when Vader showed up 11 minutes later.
Beresh explained his client was late because he had loaned his car to someone else who was late returning it.
Vader had been late three times before, and court was told that twice he had car trouble and once he slept in.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the July 2010 deaths of St. Albert seniors Lyle and Marie McCann.
The couple vanished while on a camping trip and their bodies have never been found.
