Trailer park death ruled homicide

The city's medical examiner has ruled the death of a woman in southeast Edmonton last weekend a homicide.

Officers were called to the Oakridge Mobile Home Park near 17th Street and 66th Avenue around 7 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, they found the body of 26-year-old Yeny Alfaro inside a home.

Tara Lynn Morris lives nearby.

"There was many cops coming and going, forensics, everything," she said of the police investigation. "It was a lot of crazy drama going on out here. There was people walking around here – trying to figure out what was going on."

Morris told CBC News that a young couple had moved into the trailer in April. She never noticed anything unusual about them – just a lot of cars coming and going.

The cause of death and identity of the woman aren't yet being released. But police say the killing does not appear to have been random.
