Taylor Hall trade announced, gloom and thunder follows
Are the skies displeased with the Oilers decision?
Just as the sky turned dark and with gathering thunder Wednesday afternoon, word broke that the Oilers were losing Taylor Hall.
Hall will join the New Jersey Devils; in his place, the Oilers will get defenceman Adam Larsson.
It didn't take fans long to notice the confluence of events.
Even nature is pissed about <a href="https://twitter.com/hallsy04">@hallsy04</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yeg?src=hash">#yeg</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/joshclassenCTV">@joshclassenCTV</a> <a href="https://t.co/KHtnHdKCx1">pic.twitter.com/KHtnHdKCx1</a>

Is this the apocalypse?
I read that Taylor Hall got traded to the Devils & then looked out to see intense rain/hail & lightning everywhere. Apocalypse or Genesis?

Who's the most upset?
<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Oilers?src=hash">#Oilers</a> trade Taylor Hall & it immediately starts to thunder. Coincidence? I think not. Mother Nature is voicing her displeasure, too. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yeg?src=hash">#yeg</a>

Can't tell if I'm hearing thunder or Oilers fans reacting to Taylor Hall trade. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yegwx?src=hash">#yegwx</a>

The man himself
Hall waited until well after the rain to chip in his own two cents on the trade.

Who got the better deal?
While many in Edmonton shake their fists at the sky (and Peter Chiarelli), hockey fans in New Jersey are already celebrating — raising questions about who the trade benefits the most.

Hall, 24, is considered among the top young forwards in the NHL. The 2010 first-overall draft pick recorded 26 goals and 39 assists in 82 games last season.
His most productive season came in 2013-14, when he posted a career-high 80 points and matched a career best with 27 goals.
