More than 200 high school students from across Alberta faced off in the fifth annual provincial VEX Robotics Championship at NAIT this weekend.

Man-made machines were put to the test at the fifth annual provincial VEXRobotics Championship, hosted by NAIT on Monday. More than 200 high school students from across the province compete in the annual engineering challenge. Four teams from Monday`s competition will advance to the 2016 VEX Worlds, in Louisville, Kentucky this April.

More than 200 high school students from across Alberta faced off at the fifth annual provincial VEX Robotics Championship at NAIT this weekend.

Each year, the students are presented with an engineering challenge in the form of a game.

This year, students were tasked with building a robot that could toss balls into a basket.

The top four teams qualified for the 2016 VEX Worlds, which will be held in April in Louisville, Kentucky.
