Renowned Canadian artist in Edmonton for book tour
When Canadians think of wildlife and landscape painting, one name comes to mind: Robert Bateman.
For nearly 50 years, Bateman has been painting some of the most iconic images of Canadian flora, fauna and landscapes.
Now he has added author to his list of accomplishments, penning Life Sketches, his personal memoir. In it, Bateman discusses both his artistic and environmental journey through life, in addition to sharing new art and photographs.
The artist visited CBC Edmonton on Friday afternoon to speak with Radio Active host Portia Clark about the book and his half-century of experience in the Canadian wilds. Click on the video above for highlights from their conversation.
Bateman will be speaking at Audrey's Books on Jasper Avenue on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
