Man wanted in Sexsmith murder case arrested in B.C.
Suspect also charged with three counts of aggravated assault
A man wanted for second-degree murder plus three counts of aggravated assault in connection with stabbings in Sexsmith, Alta., has been arrested.
RCMP arrested Jordan Joseph Wendland on Wednesday morning in Chilliwack, B.C.
Investigators had been searching for Wendland since Sunday, when police were called to The Alamo Bar at the Sexsmith Hotel shortly after 1 a.m.
Four men had been stabbed there. One died from his injuries and three were taken to hospital.
Police obtained a Canada-wide warrant for Wendland's arrest. RCMP issued a statement the next day, saying they believed Wendland had fled Sexsmith headed for the Lower Mainland area of B.C.
RCMP say they received several tips from the public in response to that media release.
Early Wednesday, police tracked Wendland to a residence in Chilliwack and arrested him without incident.
