Police seized $600K worth of steroids from a sophisticated lab in Edmonton. Fort Saskatchewan man charged.

A Fort Saskatchewan man has been charged in what Edmonton Police are calling the largest seizure of steroids in their history.

Tips from the public led police to a lab in an Edmonton apartment building. One man, 32, is now facing charges of steroid production and trafficking and police say more charges may still be laid.

"During their investigation they discovered what they believe to be a sophisticated steroid production lab which included packing supplies etc for resale,” Edmonton Police spokesman Scott Pattison said.

“[It's] important to note this is the largest seizure of illegal steroids in EPS history."

The seizure included 26 litres of liquid steroid, 17 kilograms of steroid powder and more than 183,000 steroid pills.

Police say the drugs would have fetched about $600,000 on the street.

The accused is scheduled make a court appearance in the middle of July.
