The first of the Wildrose floor-crossers has officially been nominated to run for the Progressive Conservatives in the next Alberta election.

The party says Ian Donovan has been acclaimed to be its candidate in the riding of Little Bow.

Donovan and Kerry Towle crossed over to the Tories in November, followed three weeks later by nine more MLAs, including then-leader Danielle Smith.

Donovan was one of 15 acclaimed candidates announced by the PCs for an election expected to be held this spring.

Another Wildrose floor-crosser, Blake Pedersen, will face two challengers in a nomination vote set for Feb. 21 in Medicine Hat.

Other acclaimed candidates include cabinet ministers Diana McQueen, Stephen Mandel, Jeff Johnson, Ric McIver,
Kyle Fawcett, Don Scott, Wayne Drysdale, Frank Oberle, and Manmeet Bhullar.
