Harper to discuss energy strategy with Redford
Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he will meet Premier Alison Redford and other provincial leaders soon to talk about Redford's idea for a Canadian energy strategy.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he will meet Alberta Premier Alison Redford and other provincial leaders soon to talk about Redford's idea for a Canadian energy strategy.
Harper was asked about the issue during a stop in Edmonton on Friday.
"She has broached that issue with me, although I am actually anticipating we will be having some meetings in the not too distant future with Alberta and with several other provinces to get more details about precisely what they have in mind," said Harper.
Redford has described the strategy as one where the provinces work together to develop energy resources, including getting them to new markets.
British Columbia and Saskatchewan have come out in support of Redford's concept.
