Edmonton member of Hells Angels arrested on drug charges
ALERT investigation nets two kilograms of cocaine, $100,000 in cash
A member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang has been arrested on drug charges following a months-long ALERT investigation.
The gang member was arrested Feb. 10 at a southeast Edmonton home. Police seized nearly two kilograms of cocaine and other evidence related to drug trafficking.
The 35-year-old, a full-patch member of the Edmonton-based Westridge chapter of the Hells Angels, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, drug possession and breach of recognizance.
The investigation, which began in August, concluded on Feb. 10 with searches at two homes in Edmonton and one in Sherwood Park.
Along with the drugs, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team also seized more than $100,000 in cash.
The same gang member was one of six Hells Angels arrested on organized crime charges in April 2014, police say.
He was scheduled to appear in court earlier today.
