Edmonton canine unit top dogs at national competition

Maverick was first a Top Gun.

Now he's a top dog as well.

Const. Murray Burke and police service dog Maverick recently earned Edmonton top honours at the Canadian Police Canine Association trials.

The two have been with the EPS canine unit for five years.

In all, 35 police dogs and their handlers competed in the three-day event in Medicine Hat.
