Snow overnight and into Wednesday morning contributed to slick road conditions in and around Edmonton.
Police reported 134 collisions between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The total included 110 property-damage collisions, six injury collisions and 18 hit-and-run collisions.
The city is prepared to send out its full fleet of plows, sanders and graders — more than 150 pieces of equipment — once the snow accumulates to more than three centimetres, it said in a news release Wednesday
When less than three centimetres, the city maintains the roads as needed, rather than sending out its full fleet.
Environment Canada is calling for up to four centimetres of snow this afternoon.
With snow in the forecast last weekend, the city sent out anti-icing crews to treat select roads, bike lanes and downtown bus stops, the release said.
