About 140 residents are being allowed to return to their homes in Lodgepole after a nearby wildfire was reported as being held.

Nordegg residents still waiting to return

About 140 residents are being allowed to return to their homes in Lodgepole after a nearby wildfire was reported as being held.

Brazeau County, in west-central Alberta, lifted the evacuation order around 9 a.m., but the fire ban is still in effect as well as the local state of emergency.

Residents will be on a two-hour evacuation order.

ATCO will be going to each home through the day to restart gas appliances.

There is still no update yet for evacuees from the Nordegg wildfire further south.

That fire is considered out of control, but it is 80 percent contained and fire officials say the weather is working in their favour.

There are currently 15 wildfires in the province.
