A 50-year-old Alberta man died in a snowmobile accident near Clearwater, B.C., Sunday.

A 50-year-old Alberta man has died in a snowmobile accident near Clearwater, B.C., Sunday.

Kelvin Bell of Hardisty, Alta. — located 200 kilometres southeast of Edmonton — was with a group of snowmobilers spending the day in the popular mountain area northwest of Clearwater.

Bell died after losing control of his sled and hitting a tree while heading down the mountain in the late afternoon, said the B.C. coroner officer.

Bell died at the scene.
