Alberta Legislature to hold session before election
Next year's provincial budget will be debated and passed before the government calls an election, Premier Alison Redford said Thursday.
Next year's provincial budget will be debated and passed before the government calls an election, Premier Alison Redford said Thursday.
"We would have a throne speech. We would bring the budget forward," she said.
"We would have a spring session of the legislature and then we would go to the polls. I've been very clear. I've never changed my position on that."
The next session of the legislative assembly will start on February 7th, but Redford would not say when the election will be called.
Newly-passed legislation means a vote could take place sometime in March, April or May.
