1 of 2 shooting victims dead after being dropped off at hospital
Shooting took place around 3:45 a.m. in the northeast community of Rundle
One of the two victims dropped off at a Calgary hospital after being shot in the early morning hours has died, while the second victim is in critical condition.
Police responded to numerous calls reporting shots had been fired around 3:45 a.m. on Monday in the northeast community of Rundle.
By the time police arrived, everyone had fled the scene.
Shortly after, two men in their 20s were dropped off at the Peter Lougheed hospital.
The victims were taken to hospital by a man driving a white 2018 Ford Fusion, with Alberta license plate CFB-8504, according to police who want to track down the driver.
The incident is believed to be targeted but police say there is no information to indicate it's connected to the fatal Boxing Day shooting of Farah Hersi Handule, an Ontario man wanted on warrants for murder in Ottawa.
An autopsy is expected to be scheduled this week.
Police won't release the victim's identity until his family has been notified and the autopsy is completed.
