Missing Alberta teen found in rural field was killed, believe RCMP

RCMP are investigating whether a missing Alberta teen whose body was found in a rural area near southeast Airdrie was murdered.

RCMP are investigating whether a missing Alberta teen whose body was found in a rural area near southeast Airdrie was murdered.

Kalix Langenau, 19, was last seen alive in northeast Calgary on Feb. 15. Police found his body two days later.

The RCMP waited for an autopsy to be completed before identifying him in a press release Monday.

The cause of Langenau's death was not included in the statement. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit's homicide investigation is ongoing.

They are asking that anyone who might have seen anything suspicious near — or have dashcam footage of — Cross Iron Mill, Range Road 290 and Township Road 264 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Feb. 15 to contact Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7200.
