The Calgary MP, who will be returning to the House of Commons after winning her seat in Monday's election, asked the Twitterverse to reflect on the role of young women in politics: "Are you ready for someone like me ... I mean, I'm too brash, impetuous and abrasive, right?"
Her series of tweets started off simply.

As the conversation continued, Rempel became more frank in her tweets.
All your DMs with DO IT aren't helping. I'm a 35 year old chick. We're not supposed to do these sorts of things, you know.
—@MichelleRempel
I mean, I'm too brash, impetuous and abrasive, right?
—@MichelleRempel

Even though you were born Michelle Marie Godin in French Manitoba, your French is slightly shitty. That rules you out. Not your time.
—@MichelleRempel
Pay your dues, rub some of green off of you.
—@MichelleRempel
Nevermind that your pre political CV is pretty okay, by any standard.
—@MichelleRempel
You rub some of our caucus the wrong way.
—@MichelleRempel
Just....bide your time.
—@MichelleRempel
As party, we have some pretty incredible people who move the ball forward on the field. Now is the time to recognize all of them...

...and set any preconceived notions aside.

My party can reflect all of Canada.
—@MichelleRempel
Hell, it already does.
—@MichelleRempel
She's a bit too authentic.
—@MichelleRempel
She's....she's....shes...
—@MichelleRempel
She's......not perfect.
