Calgary man's body found after Shuswap Lake boat crash

RCMP divers have found the body of a Calgary man following a boat crash on B.C.'s Shuswap Lake.

Sicamous RCMP, with assistance from the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, successfully recovered the body of the missing Calgary man Monday afternoon. (CBC)

Sicamous RCMP say they were called in early Sunday morning to Hungry Cove after a boat crashed around 9:30 p.m. PT on Saturday.

One of the men on the boat was able to get help from a passing houseboat Sunday morning.  He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two dogs were also safely recovered, but a 51-year-old from Calgary who was operating the vessel died. His body was found on Monday.

RCMP have not released his name.

The crashed boat, described as a 45-foot vessel, has been seized by investigators as they look into the cause of the incident.
