Calgary 2008 homicides reach 21

Calgary police confirmed Tuesday that a woman found in a Marlborough Park residence was killed, but they're not releasing her cause of death.

Calgary police confirmed Tuesday that a woman found dead Sunday in a Marlborough Park residence was killed, but they're not releasing her cause of death.

Police responding to a call found Sarah Nicole Rae, 24, of Calgary, deceased inside a home in the 6100 block of 4th Avenue N.E. It was Calgary's 21st homicide of the year.

Police released Rae's name on Tuesday after an autopsy but said the cause of her death will not be released for investigative reasons.

In an unrelated incident, police are investigating the stabbing death of a 17-year-old male from Calgary. Police are withholding his name because of his age and at the request of his family.

Police responding to reports of a fight found the teen on the 100 block of Manora Place N.E. on Wednesday night. He had been stabbed once in the chest and was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

Investigators said they have not yet identified a motive or suspects in the case.
