Vancouver police have announced charges against a 73-year-old man following a double homicide in a West End apartment last week.

Leonard Landrick, 73, was arrested Monday and subsequently charged with two counts of second degree murder.

He was a resident of 1835 Morton Ave, the same apartment building where Sandra McInnes, 57, and Neil Croker, 51, were found dead on July 10.

"There were several subjects of interest in this investigation," said Sgt. Jason Robillard, and two people were originally arrested by police.

However, Robillard said Landrick is currently the only suspect.

"It was a very challenging case."

Landrick made his first appearance in court Tuesday, with his next appearance scheduled for August 1.
