Poppy donations snatched from Coquitlam veteran

RCMP in Coquitlam, B.C., are looking for a man they believe took a can of poppy donations from a 84-year-old veteran.

Police say the man walked into a supermarket in the 1300 block of Lougheed Highway just after 11 a.m. PT. He put some change in the donation can and walked away.

Ten minutes later the man returned to the store, took the can and rode away on a bicycle, said police.

The suspect is described as: 

  • A white male in this mid-40s.
  • 5' 7" tall, 150 lbs.
  • Stubble on his face.
  • Wearing a Blue Jays ball cap.
  • Blue jacket and black pants.
