Man taken to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries but is now in stable condition
British Columbia's police watchdog is investigating after a man was injured during an arrest in Nanaimo.
The Independent Investigations Office is trying to determine whether there is a connection between the actions of RCMP and the man's injuries on Thursday.
RCMP say they were called about a man who was allegedly touching women inappropriately and threatening passengers on a bus.
The man left the bus, but an RCMP officer found him nearby and tried to arrest him.
Police say the suspect resisted and the incident ended with him on the ground.
They say the man was taken to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries and he is now in stable condition.
