New Westminster sexual assault victim speaks out

A woman who says she was sexually assaulted at a bus stop in New Westminster is speaking out to warn the public about the assailant and thank the man who helped her.

Police say they're looking for a man responsible for two sex offences committed 30 minutes apart

Nicole Montojo says she wants to warn others about what happened to her on Thursday night.

A woman who says she was sexually assaulted at a bus stop in New Westminster is speaking out to warn the public about the assailant and thank the man who helped her.

Nicole Montojo says she was on her way to work on Thursday when a man approached her from across the street, walked up behind her, and pulled down her pants.

"I was really shocked," she said. "I was just like, what the hell just happened?"

Montojo says she worries about what might have happened if another man at the bus stop hadn't jumped in to help.

She says the Good Samaritan intervened and an altercation ensued between him and her alleged attacker.

Nicole Montojo's mother, Helen, says the incident is deeply concerning for her because her family lives close to the bus stop.

"This is a peaceful place, but now I'm scared!" she said.

Nicole Montojo says she won't let the attack change her daily commute to work, but she is sending a warning to her community about the man she says assaulted her.

She also says she also hopes to thank the Good Samaritan who came to her rescue.

"Something worse might have happened if I was just there by myself," she said.
