The New Westminster Police Department is looking for a man they say is responsible for two sex offences committed 30 minutes apart on Thursday.

The first happened around 5:30 p.m. PT near a bus stop on Howes Street.

Police say the suspect walked up behind an adult woman and pulled her pants down.

"Thirty minutes later ... in the same area, a man with a similar description approached a different woman who was in her vehicle," said a release issued by NWPD. "This time, the male pulled his own pants down and exposed himself before she drove away."

Officers describe the suspect as:

  • Stocky.
  • Five feet, eight inches tall.
  • Caucasian.
  • Aged mid-to-late-20s.
  • Has a goatee.
  • Has dirty blonde hair.

In the first incident police say he was wearing a black baseball hat with a white soccer jersey and jeans and in the second incident, a red hoodie.

"We take these reports very seriously, but thankfully they are rare for us in New Westminster," said Sgt. Jeff Scott in the release.

"We have increased our uniform patrols in the area, and our major crime unit is canvassing for any witnesses or video surveillance to identify the suspect."

Anyone who has any information about the suspect is asked to call NWPD at 604-525-5411.
