Vancouverites asked to submit suggestions for newly unveiled Mount Pleasant park
'Dude Chilling' is already taken but the hope is Vancouver's newest park can find a name that is as popular and beloved.
The city is asking residents to pitch potential names for the new green space at Yukon Street and 17th Avenue.
The former residential lot features a garden, playground, and benches, along with a unique public bike repair station — handy for cyclists using the adjacent Yukon bikeway.
A public information session will be held at the yet-to-be named park Wednesday, Oct. from 8 a.m. PT to 11:30 a.m PT.
The winning name will be chosen by the Vancouver Park Board as part of the Name Your Park initiative.
Currently, 22 of the city's 230 parks are nameless.
