Li Zhao charged with 2nd degree murder after body found cut up in West Vancouver
Accused previously charged with cutting up dead body
Li Zhao, a West Vancouver man charged with allegedly cutting up a dead body, now faces an additional charge of second degree murder.
The 54-year-old man was investigated following the suspicious death of a 42-year-old man over the weekend. Zhao is the co-owner of the house where the man's body was found, in the British Properties, and police will only say the accused and the victim were known to each other.
Police have not said where the body was found, who the victim was, or where Zhao was arrested.
Investigators have revealed they first received reports of a "violent confrontation" at the home on the 900 block of King Georges Way late on Saturday night.
Officers then secured the home and arrested Zhao on Sunday morning.
He appeared in court earlier this week and was remanded into custody until next Monday.
