Vancouver police are once again calling on the public to help them find a 42-year-old suspect, Daniel Alphonse Paul, in connection with the city's third homicide of the year.

Vancouver police are once again calling on the public to help them find Daniel Alphonse Paul, a 42-year-old suspect, in connection with the city's third homicide of the year.

A woman's body was found last Tuesday in the basement suite of a home on East 22nd Street near Main Street.

Detectives believe the 36-year-old woman was murdered, and police are looking for Paul in connection with the incident.

Sgt. Randy Fincham said a number of tips have come in from the Abbotsford and Chilliwack, B.C. areas.

"We do believe that he knows the police are looking for him," said Fincham.

"We have had a number of tips since Friday when we appealed to the public to help locate him. Since Friday, he has actually been upgraded from a person of interest to a suspect as a result of the investigation."

He is described as:

  • aboriginal
  • five feet eight inches tall
  • medium build
  • brown eyes
  • short black hair
  • has tattoos of an eagle, a rat, a knife, a skull and a buffalo on his left arm​
  • has tattoos of a skull with a rose and a heart on his right arm
