Police have found the person suspected of fatally stabbing a man in a Port Coquitlam parking lot earlier this month.

Earlier on Tuesday they were warning the public that 34-year-old James Ivan Meanney was at large and considered armed and dangerous.

A second-degree murder charge has been approved against Meanney. It's alleged he stabbed 65-year-old Robert Harold Vidovich in the parking area of Shaughnessy Square Shopping Centre on August 7, but then fled the area.

It's not known whether Meanney and Vidovich knew each other, or what the motivation of the attack was.
