Man dies after fight in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the crime scene at Shaughnessy Square near Coquitlam Avenue and Flint Street in Port Coquitlam, B.C., after a fatal stabbing on Sunday.

Paramedics said they received a call about the incident just after 1 p.m. PT and sent two ambulances. Emergency crews transported one patient in critical condition to hospital, where he later died.

Coquitlam RCMP said in a release they responded to calls for an altercation outside of a local pub and, "found a man suffering from serious, life threatening injuries, allegedly sustained from a fight, according to witnesses."

"There is no evidence to indicate the public is at risk as a result of this incident," said the release, adding that the victim has not yet been identified.

Police also have not said if they have made any arrests in the case.
