16-year-old in hospital after overnight stabbing in Surrey

RCMP said they are looking for a group of youth that fled the scene, who are believed to be the attackers.

A young man is in hospital after an overnight stabbing at a house in Surrey.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, about an altercation at a house in the 5600-block of 148 Street.

They found the victim, a 16-year-old, suffering from multiple wounds from what RCMP call an 'unknown edged weapon.' He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Murray Hedderson said they are looking for a group of youth that fled the scene, who are believed to be the attackers.

Hedderson said all the youths knew each other and the attack was targeted.

Surrey RCMP said they are still looking for witnesses to the attack. Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
