16-year-old boy in custody after girl assaulted at Vancouver nightclub
Vancouver Police says a 16-year-old male is in custody after a young female was assaulted Sunday night at the Encore Dance Club on the Granville strip in downtown Vancouver.
The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition, say police
A 16-year-old male was in Vancouver police custody Monday after a young female was assaulted at the Encore Dance Club on the Granville strip in downtown Vancouver Sunday night.
Police were called to the night club at 1058 Granville Street shortly after 11:00 p.m. PT.
The underage victim was transported to hospital in stable condition, according to Sgt. Randy Fincham.
"It was a targeted, isolated event and there is no ongoing public safety concern," Fincham said in a statement.
The club was hosting a private party by an outside promoter at the time, but declined to name who rented the facility or describe the nature of the event.
