Vancouver's Ouro Collective channel inner-city pressure into breaking and popping dance moves
Group's new show 'Pace' sends a message about urban existence
With its unique fusion of hip-hop and other forms of street dance, this Vancouver collective developed its newest show to reflect real-life stresses.
The show is called "Pace," and is about the pressures of living in a city, from its speed to the loneliness and anxiety that can come with the environment.
Dancer and choreographer Cristina Bucci says each of the five dancers in Ouro Collective brought a unique style of choreography and then the challenge was to communicate it to the rest of the group.
The result in this short documentary by Gian Paolo Mendoza is a message about the pace of life through the synergy of the dancers.
But really, you have to see this to appreciate it.
