Yet another Leaf jersey hits the ice in Winnipeg

The grand tradition of Toronto Maple Leaf fans throwing jerseys continued on Saturday. In the late throes of an atrocious performance against the Jets in Winnipeg, a visiting Leaf fan decided to throw his hat in the ring by throwing his team jersey onto the ice at the MTS Centre.

The grand tradition of Toronto Maple Leafs fans throwing jerseys continued on Saturday.

In the late throes of an atrocious performance against the Jets in Winnipeg, a visiting Leafs fan decided to throw his hat in the ring by throwing his team jersey onto the ice at the MTS Centre.

The Jets played the Leafs off the ice in a dominating 5-1 victory.

This is at least the sixth time this season that a disgruntled Leafs fan has thrown a jersey on the ice during a poor performance by the team, and not even the first time it happened on the road – an angry fan in Buffalo earned that distinction in November.

The act elicited full-throated cheers from the Jets faithful in Winnipeg, and will likely spark another round of “will-they, won’t-they” salute-related stories which will continue into July and beyond.
