Florschuetz, Martini claim World Cup bobsled races
Germany's Thomas Florschuetz and Kevin Kuske won a World Cup two-man bobsled on Saturday to maintain their lead in the overall standings after three races.
Olympic silver medallist Florschuetz finished 0.24 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Beat Hefti and Thomas Lamparter for his second win of the season.
Latvian duo Oskars Melbardis and Daumants Dreiskens were third.
Olympic medallist Lyndon Rush, of Humboldt, Sask., and Jesse Lumsden, of Burlington, Ont., were sixth in Canada 1 while Calgary duo of Chris Spring and Derek Plug were ninth in Canada 2.
World champion Cathleen Martini of Germany claimed her first win of the season and led a one-two finish in the women's race.
Martini and brakewoman Janine Tischer finished 0.28 seconds ahead of Olympic champion Anja Schneiderheinze and Lisette Thoene. Fabienne Meyer and Hanne Schenk of Switzerland were third.
