'I celebrate the fact that I'm Canadian': Howie Mandel on championing Canadian comedy and Just for Laughs
If you've turned on a TV in the past 30 years, you've probably seen Howie Mandel. You may know him best as the host of Deal or No Deal, as a judge on America's Got Talent, or for the time he spent hanging out with Denzel Washington on the medical drama St. Elsewhere.
Now, after decades of sharing his talent with audiences south of the border, Mandel is bringing some of it back home to Canada as the proud new co-owner of Just for Laughs.
He joined q's Tom Power to look back on his long career in comedy and to talk about what inspired him to become part of this Canadian comedy empire.
Mandel will be hosting an all-star comedy gala at the Just for Laughs festival on Wednesday, July 24. The festival is taking over Montreal right now through to July 28. Wherever you are this summer, you can still catch Mandel on TV on both America's Got Talent and the new season of Deal or No Deal.
