Beau Dixon's new play Bloom: A Rock 'n' Roll Fable helps him honour his mother's memory
Actor, musician and playwright Beau Dixon tells us about his new play, Bloom: A Rock 'n' Roll Fable, and how he's honouring his mother through his art.
More than two decades ago, Beau Dixon visited his mom at her new home in Peterborough, Ont., where she took him out to a farmer's field to see a play. What Dixon didn't expect was that this one weekend would change his life forever.
Dixon is now a successful actor, musician and playwright whose new play, Bloom: A Rock 'n' Roll Fable, is being performed in that same farmer's field.
He joined q's Tom Power to tell us more about the play and how he's honouring his mom through his art. Bloom: A Rock 'n' Roll Fable, about the rise and fall of a Canadian rock band, is running at the 4th Line Theatre in Millbrook, Ont., until Saturday, July 27.
