There's a fight brewing over who gets to keep the putrid blue whale carcasses that washed up on two different Newfoundland beaches last week. Yesterday, Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum said it would remove the whale carcasses and bring them to the museum, but some Newfoundland residents want to keep the whales. Liberal MP Gerry Byrne is acting as whale diplomat, trying to broker a deal to appease both sides.

"These whales are a danger," Mr. Byrne tells Carol. "No matter what happens it will create a horrendous stench for the rest of, not only this year, but a couple more years to come if they're not removed."

"We've gotta get these whales off the beach."
