Freeland's resignation letter casts doubt on government's motives, business group head says
Chrystia Freeland's letter resigning as finance minister was 'deeply disturbing,' according to Goldy Hyder, president and CEO of the Business Council of Canada, who says it suggests politics is driving the government's decisions, not the best interests of Canadians. He said he hopes Prime Minister Justin Trudeau listens to Freeland's successor, Dominic LeBlanc, 'because he didn't to the last two finance ministers, and that's why we're in the mess that we're in right now.'
