Man fatally shot in Oshawa Tuesday: Durham police

A man is dead after being shot inside an apartment building in Oshawa Tuesday, Durham police say. 

Victim is a 29-year-old from Oshawa, police say

A man is dead after being shot inside an apartment building in Oshawa Tuesday, Durham police say. 

In a news release on Wednesday, police identified the victim as 29-year-old Dennis Binda of Oshawa.

Police responded to reports of gunshots at 1040 Cedar Street just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, acting Duty Insp. Craig McCabe said at a news conference later that day. The address is an apartment building. 

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, McCabe said, adding that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCabe said police believe the shooting happened inside the building, but couldn't say where.
