Woman dead after being struck by vehicle in North York

A woman in her 70s is dead after being fatally struck by a driver in North York Wednesday morning, Toronto police say.

Incident happened near Faywood Boulevard and Wilson Avenue Wednesday morning

A woman in her 70s is dead after being fatally struck by a driver in North York Wednesday morning, Toronto police say.

In a post on social media, investigators said the incident happened in the area of Faywood Boulevard and Wilson Avenue, just north of Highway 401, around 9:15 a.m.

The driver of a blue Honda Odyssey was travelling southbound on Faywood Boulevard when they made a left hand turn onto Wilson Avenue, police said in a news release 

The vehicle collided with the pedestrian and the driver remained at the scene, police said. 

The woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where she later died.
