Toronto police have arrested three people in the shooting death of a Quebec man in the city's east end last August.

Dacia Mbongo, 21 was found with gunshot wounds in a laneway just north of Woodbine Beach on Aug. 8 around 11 p.m., police say. He was rushed to hospital, where he later died.

Police said in August that residents in the area heard an argument in the laneway, followed by gunfire.

On Tuesday, police arrested three people in relation to the homicide after acting on three search warrants in Toronto and the Durham Region, Toronto police said in a news release.

Two men, 18 and 26, now face charges of robbery and second-degree murder, while a 19-year-old woman faces charges of robbery and manslaughter, police said.

All three are from the Toronto area. They were all due to appear in court separately Tuesday afternoon.

Mbongo's death was the 52nd homicide in Toronto last year.
