Nolalu, Hymers south of Thunder Bay flooded

High water has led to washouts and road closures south of Thunder Bay on Tuesday.

Flooding has caused road closures and washouts in some areas south of Thunder Bay

It's been a very damp start to the week for areas near the Whitefish River Valley, south of Thunder Bay, and some residents captured images of the flood damage.

Flood warnings have now been lifted for the Township of O'Connor and the Township of Gillies, but the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority says water flows in the area will remain high for some time.

Washouts and road damage are restricting travel in the area. For a list of routes to avoid on Tuesday, click here
