Saskatoon's Farnam Block land now parking lot
Vehicles fill space on land where Lydia's Pub once stood
The Farnam Block was a musical paradise for many when Lydia's pub was located there. Now it's a parking lot.
The demolition of the historic building on Saskatoon's Broadway Avenue was much contested. People tried to save the over 100-year-old edifice, but demolition crews began dismantling the brick building last month.
Gaby Akl, a realtor and spokesperson for the project, said the land will be a parking lot until construction on a new building begins. Akl said they are in the early planning phase and there is not yet a timeline in place.
The building has been leveled and vehicles are now parking on the land. This has some residents unnerved. Here's their reaction.
