Plane crash in southern Saskatchewan leaves 1 dead

A plane crash in southern Saskatchewan left one person dead Friday morning.
Outlook RCMP say they received a report of a plane crash in the RM of Coteau around 6:30 a.m. CST. The crash happened near Birsay, about 250 kilometres northwest of Regina, near Lake Diefenbaker.
"The sole occupant of the plane was declared deceased by EMS at the scene," the RCMP said in an email statement Friday afternoon.
RCMP say the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada will investigate and that there was no further information to share at that time.
The TSB said in an email statement that it is sending a team to Saskatchewan and would be on site Saturday morning.
No details on the deceased's identity or the cause of the crash have been released.
