RCMP investigate Saturday church fire in Loon Lake, Sask.

Church was fully engulfed when officers arrived

Police are investigating a fire at a church in Loon Lake, Sask., Saturday morning.

Loon Lake RCMP said in a news release on Sunday that the church on Main Street was fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived.

No one was in the church at the time and no injuries have been reported to police, RCMP said. 

Loon Lake RCMP said the investigation, including the circumstances surrounding how the fire started, is in its preliminary stages.

Residents of the village, which is about 150 km northwest of North Battleford, are asked to check their security camera footage and contact police if they notice anything out of the ordinary.
