Evening Outaouais crash leaves man dead

Police are investigating after a man lost control of his vehicle in Saint-André-Avellin, Que., on Saturday evening. He died in hospital while a passenger suffered minor injuries.

One man is dead after his vehicle swerved and crashed Saturday evening in Saint-André-Avellin, Que.

Police officers from Papineau were called to Highway 321 near rang Sainte-Julie at about 8 p.m.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Sûreté du Québec.

A passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they do not know why the man lost control of his vehicle and are investigating.
